How long before hair colour fades (see details)?

Ok, this sunday because I was feeling experimental I bleached my hair with bleach I got from Sally's. The end result after 2 sessions and toner: Whitish-grey with yellow streaks. NOT hot. SO yesterday I pulled my crap together after everyone at work asked me :"Geez, what happened" and went to a salon. There the girl put a yellowish/reddish dye on top and then highlights all over and toner, which is fine, but the end result is more of a strawberry blonde (not garish, just strawberry). I am thinking that once it fades a bit it will be in between this colour and bleached blonde underneath which I wouldn't mind. How long before it fades? Also what can I do to fade it faster without damaging it more? I have to be gentle with my hair now as it's dry so no more bleaching!
